Experienced patent attorney for your intellectual property (IP) matters.
I understand the need of IP departments to receive premium service at adequate cost.
My goal is to be a companion for stakeholders in IP matters along their path in ex parte and inter partes proceedings, even when this path gets rocky.
In view of my technical background (theoretical physics, solid state physics, optics, and quantum information processing), I provide legal counselling also in the areas of computer-implemented inventions (CII), including artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML), quantum information processing, and quantum computing.
About me
I provide legal advice and representation in patent, utility model, trademark, and design matters. In addition to application drafting and prosecution in proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, and the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), I have experience in contentious proceedings (oppositions and litigation). I am also admitted as a European Patent Litigator (UPC).
Why you may want to consider me as your IP service partner
I understand that IP departments and other IP stakeholders (be it individual inventors, start-up companies, mid-sized firms, or multi-national companies) need to operate under budget constraints. My goal is to provide premium patent attorney service in an efficient manner to accommodate this need.
My mathematical/quantum physics background provides the basis for my service in matters relating to computer-implemented inventions (CII), including artificial intelligence (AI), imaging techniques, and quantum information processing.
Short summary of my technical background
Before starting my own firm as a freelance patent attorney at meier ip, I trained in a medium-sized IP boutique (Kraus & Weisert) and subsequently worked in one of Germany’s top tier IP firms (Vossius & Partner).
I am a physicist by training (LMU Munich, University of Oxford, New College Oxford, University of Basel). I hold a PhD in theoretical physics and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. Prior to joining the IP profession, I worked at the California NanoSystems Institute and the University of California Santa Barbara. My work was recognized with various awards and scholarships and published in numerous scientific articles.
